Class of 1969 Reunion

Reunion Date: 2019-10-19
I am not one of the organizers; simply passing along their information from Facebook. Page High School Class of 1969 members! Clear the date of Oct. 19 on your calendars and join us at the Elks Lodge at 2201 West Cornwallis Dr. from 6 p.m. until 10 or later so we can celebrate a monumental event in our lives, our 50-year reunion.
We'll arrive, check in and socialize for about an hour, then eat at 7 and spend the rest of the time catching up and reminiscing. The cost is $30 per person, which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, both hot and cold, and fruit and vegetable trays. A cash bar will be available, and we'll have a DJ.
You can pay in several ways. If you would prefer to use PayPal, you can send your money directly to me at this link: PayPal.Me/samspade1941 (just click on it or type it into the address bar of your browser). If you want to pay by check, make payment to Page Class of 1969 Reunion and mail it to me at 4618-B Lawndale Dr., Greensboro, 27455.
You can also give your money to or send it to any of the other reunion committee members: Heli Koppel Benson, Carla Sockwell Morgan, Beverly DeBerry Seawell (a '71 alum who has graciously helped us because her husband, Steve, is in our class), Bob Costello and Frank Smith.
Deadline is Oct. 1. If you register after that date, the cost will rise to $40 per person. We need to give an accurate count to the Elks Lodge by Oct. 14 so its folks know how many people will be in attendance.
We can relive the moments when we thought we would be trampled at the main intersection of hallways during class change; when we walked into Mrs. Sams' French class and wondered what in the world was coming out of her mouth, and then went to Mrs. McKay's Trigonometry and Algebra II classes and wondered what in the blazes she was saying when she talked about sine, cosine and unit circles.
And, once that's done, we can sit around and discuss who has the most artificial body parts, how many prescriptions we have and who can stay awake past 10 p.m. each night.
If you know of any classmates who have died since our 40th reunion, please alert us. We'd like to have a list to display and honor all. If anyone is interested in taking a tour of Page on Saturday before the reunion, Susan Tysinger of the Page Alumni Association will organize one, provided enough are interested.
So plan to be there and we can lift our blended voices once more to honor our time at Greensboro's finest high school....
